Known for his friendly and patient approach, Captain Kester prioritizes creating memorable and rewarding experiences for every guest. Whether targeting the inshore Grand Slam species or exploring offshore hotspots, his deep knowledge ensures each trip is tailored to the angler’s goals and skill level.
When it comes to inshore fishing, Captain Kester offers exciting opportunities to pursue prized species such as Snook, Tarpon, Permit, and Bonefish, with the added chance of landing Jack Crevalle. His extensive understanding of coastal habitats and seasonal fish patterns means he knows exactly where and when to find these sought-after tropical fish. Guests appreciate his calm confidence and expert guidance, which take the stress out of fishing and allow them to focus on enjoying the day and learning new techniques.
Captain Kester’s reputation as a skilled and reliable guide is built on years of successful charters and satisfied customers. He equips each trip with top-quality Penn and Shimano gear, but also welcomes guests to bring their own equipment for a personalized experience. Beyond the fishing itself, Captain Kester’s warm personality and dedication to safety and comfort make him a trusted companion on Tobago’s waters.
The Boats – Comfortable, Well-Equipped, and Ready to Fish
Grand Slam Fishing Charters operates two purpose-built vessels to suit your fishing preferences. For inshore adventures, Captain Kester uses a custom 23-foot flats boat powered by a 130 HP Yamaha engine. This nimble boat is outfitted with a fishfinder and has ample space for up to three anglers, offering quick access to prime flats and shallow-water locations where inshore species thrive. For offshore excursions, the charter runs the 37-foot Bertram, the Bounty Hunter, powered by twin 450 HP Detroit engines. This sturdy and spacious boat accommodates up to eight guests and comes equipped with air conditioning, restroom facilities, a kitchen, and a shower—providing a comfortable and efficient platform for long days targeting trophy game fish in Tobago’s deep waters.
